No traditional account registration is required. The VHAM platform features an anonymous communication design, operating much like a traditional VHF/UHF radio.
No Passwords to Remember: Your radio's hardware IDs (IMEI and ICCID) act as your automatic login credentials. All group data is stored locally on the device itself.
Custom Display Names: You simply need to assign a display name (or Call Sign) to your device. You can use the exact same name across multiple devices (for example, naming your N39plus, N58plus, and the VHAM smartphone app "ROGER").
Creating or joining a group is instant and requires no administrative approval or verification.
6-Digit Group IDs: The VHAM system uses a unified 6-digit numeric ID for both the group name and the group channel.
Instant Access: Simply use the keypad to enter any 6-digit combination (e.g., 123456). If the group doesn't exist, it will be created instantly. If it already exists, you will immediately join the channel.
If you want to secure your channel and prevent strangers from listening in, you can set up a private group using a virtual code.
Add a Privacy Code: In the radio's menu, you can set an extra 2-digit virtual code that acts as a password. This logic is very similar to using CTCSS/DCS privacy codes on traditional two-way radios.
Managing Unwanted Guests: Because the protocol is public, if you ever notice an uninvited user in your group, you can quickly secure your communications by changing the 2-digit privacy code or by switching to a more complex, less common 6-digit group ID.
