Step 1: The Antenna "Swap Test" (Identify Antenna vs. Radio Issues) If one radio has full bars and the other has low bars, the easiest way to find the culprit is to swap their antennas.
Turn OFF both radios.
Unscrew the antenna from the working radio and put it on the radio with the weak signal (and vice versa).
Turn both radios back ON.
Result A: If the bad signal moves with the antenna to the other radio, you simply have a defective antenna. Contact support for a free replacement antenna.
Result B: If the bad signal stays with the same radio, the antenna is fine. The issue lies within the radio's hardware or software. Proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Reseat the SIM Card A loose or improperly seated SIM card can cause the cellular modem to constantly drop and reconnect to the network.
Power off the radio, remove the battery, and take out the Nano SIM card.
Wipe the SIM card's metal contacts gently with a dry cloth.
Reinsert the SIM card securely, ensuring it sits flat in the tray, and power the device back on.
Step 3: Firmware Update & Network Reset Sometimes, the radio's internal cellular modem may experience a software glitch that prevents it from locking onto the strongest local cell tower.
Check if your device has a pending OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware update in the menu.
Updating to the latest firmware will often refresh the network modem and resolve connectivity loops.
Step 4: Requesting a Hardware Warranty Replacement If you have completed the Antenna Swap Test and updated the firmware, but the radio still shows low bars and a "Red A" while your other unit works perfectly, this indicates an internal hardware defect (e.g., a damaged internal IPEX antenna connector or a faulty cellular modem).
